Description

TC Electronic M-One XL is a user-friendly, dual-engine rack processor that focuses on delivering high-quality reverbs for live and studio applications. The unit combines 8 reverb algorithms with 15 multi-purpose effect algorithms including delay, EQ, modulation, compression, de-essing, and more. The front-panel interface is optimized for quick and easy operation in a live performance situation.

The M-One XL employs the company's XL reverb technology, which allows you to apply reverb size to both the early reflections and the reverb tail and create extremely wide or narrow spatial imaging, independently of the decay time. The technology also uses sophisticated modulation patterns to simulate the modulation of a real room or to generate heavy chorusing and detuned reverbs.

The high-quality AD/DA converters offer full transparency to the TC reverbs and effects. Additional features include an easy-to-read preset display, tap tempo, MIDI clock tempo sync, a Routing Lock function, and three bypass modes. The unit utilizes a built-in universal power supply and ships with a standard IEC power cord.

Key Features

  • 8 x reverb algorithms with XL technology, for enhanced spatial perspective
  • 18 x effect algorithms
  • 200 multi-effect/reverb presets + 100 user preset locations, for a total of 300 presets
  • Dual engine runs in parallel and series for flexible effect routing options including dual send/return, parallel, parallel/serial, serial, stereo, dual mono
  • Up to 4 seconds of delay
  • Dedicated tap tempo button
  • Routing Lock function to avoid routing changes at preset change
  • MIDI interface
  • Balanced analog I/O
  • Auto-sensing 24-bit S/PDIF digital I/O, 44.1 to 48 kHz
  • Universal internal power supply—no wall wart

XL Technology

  • Based on the company's heritage of reverb technology
  • Extended range of the reverb size enables extremely wide or narrow spatial imaging, independently of the decay time
  • Reverb size can be applied to both early reflections and the reverb tail to achieve any combination from wide spaces with short decay times to narrow rooms with long decays
  • Sophisticated modulation patterns simulate the modulation of a real room and allow for ranges of modulation from the barely-audible real-room modulation to heavy chorusing and detuned reverbs

Reverb Types

Hall

  • These classic reverbs simulate the reverberation of very large rooms with high ceilings. They have unobtrusive reflections with a density and naturalness that is particularly great-sounding for vocals, acoustic guitar, and piano.

Room & Small Room

  • Room reverbs generate a vast array of room settings with different sizes and surfaces.

Plate 1 & 2

  • Plate reverbs recreate the artificial reflections typically found on old mechanical reverbs units. Plates 1 & 2 are particularly good for drums and vocal tracks.

Live

  • The Live algorithms offer grainy types of reverbs recognized as typical 80s live reverbs. Use these reverbs whenever you need the extra edge to cut through any PA system.

Spring

  • A reverb algorithm designed to reproduce the sound of the old spring reverbs, such as the ones used in vintage guitar amps.

Ambience

  • As opposed to the Spring reverb, the Ambience algorithm is a natural-sounding reverb.

Effects

  • Delay: One tap and two tap
  • Delay: Ping pong
  • Chorus: Classic and 4-voice
  • Flange: Classic and 4-voice
  • Pitch: Detune and pitch shift
  • Parametric equalizer: Three bands with high- and low-shelving bands
  • Compressor and limiter
  • Gate/expander
  • De-esser
  • Tremolo: Hard and soft
  • Phaser: Vintage and smooth
